After spending the day in Mdina and Rabat, we returned to Senglea for a short rest before heading out again in the evening towards St. Julian’s Bay, a coastal town known for its lively bayside atmosphere.

We began at Balluta Bay, with the graceful Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Knisja tal-Karmnu) rising behind the tiny beach. From there, we followed the promenade to Spinola Bay, a lively stretch with beachgoers wrapping up their day and music drifting from pubs and restaurants.

As twilight settled in, we paused on a bench overlooking the water. The lights slowly flickered to life from the hotels and restaurants that ring the bay. The gentle sound of waves lapping below, the silhouettes of fishing boats, and the hum of the evening crowd transformed the evening into something truly magical. A fitting contrast to the day, where Mdina whispered in stone, St. Julian’s sparkled in light.
